The Association of Independent Churches of Africa (AICA) was established in 1972 by the late Archbishop Augustus B. Marwieh and other leaders after a joint conference between churches of the Eliza Davis Interior Mission (ENI) organized by a great black American missionary Mother Eliza Davis George, commonly known as Mother George, and the Baffu Bay churches in Sinoe County, Liberia. Its founding mission was to focus on nationwide evangelism, and the provision of relief services for the poor.

Today, AICA is involved in evangelism and church planting in both rural and urban areas, the provision of education to Liberian children, the running of children home catering to orphans and underprivileged children of Liberia, Provision of safe drinking water to rural villages, provision of health services, and involvement in agricultural activities for sustainable growth and development among others.

What we believe:

  1. We believe that both the Old and New Testaments constitute the divinely inspired Word of God, inerrant and in the original;

  2. We believe in one God, existing eternally in three persons, Father, Son and Holy Spirit;

  1. We believe that the Lord Jesus Christ, the Son of God became man without ceasing to be God, in order that He might reveal God and redeem sinful m an;

  2. We believe that the Holy Spirit came forth from the Father, and the Son to convict the world of sin, of righteousness, and judgment, and to regenerate, comfort and seal those who believe in Jesus Christ, and to empower them to use spiritual gifts in carrying out the work of the Lord Jesus Christ;

  1. We believe that man is totally depraved and that in himself, he is utterly unable to remedy his lost condition;

  1. We believe that the Salvation of man is a gift of God brought to man by grace and received by personal faith in the Lord Jesus Christ, whose atoning blood was shed on the cross for the forgiveness of sins;

  1. We believe in the baptism of believers in water by immersion, symbolizing the beliefs of the union of death and resurrection of the Lord Jesus Christ;

  1. We believe in the Holy Communion which symbolizes the body and blood of our Lord Jesus Christ;

  1. We believe in the bodily resurrection, ascension, and the Second coming of the Lord Jesus Christ.
